In February 2002, Potteiger-Raintree,
Inc. (PRI) completed the roofreplacement project of
twenty (20) low slope roof areas at The Cathedral of
Mary Our Queen Church and Plant buildings located in
Baltimore, MD. The Cathedral was built in the 1950's
and PRI replaced the existing low slope built-up roof
systems with a new built-up roof system and modified
bitumen cap sheet.
The twenty (20) low slope roof areas varied in size
from less than 100 S.F. to one (1) large area of over
15,000 S.F. for a total low slope roof area of approximately
30,000 S.F. Roof demolition and debris removal, material
loading and safely transporting hot asphalt to the multiple
roof areas was challenging throughout the project. PRI
successfully completed the roof replacement project
while protecting the building exterior and providing
the owner with a functional facility throughout the
construction.
Owner representatives from the Archdiocese
of Baltimore and The Cathedral of Mary Our Queen as
well as the roof consultant for the project delivered
compliments to PRI for completing the project on schedule
and with a high degree of quality workmanship. Attention
to detail by PRI roofing and sheet metal mechanics completed
the final touches of the complicated project. Now the
roofing and related sheet metal details on the roof
are as pleasing to observe as the intricate detail inside
the magnificent church.
