Skokie, IL - June 20, 2011 - Tecta America Corporation, the nation's largest commercial roofing contracting and environmental roofing solutions firm, announces the appointment of Brynne Smith as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.  In his new role, Smith will lead all operational aspects of the company, drive process alignment, and build bench strength to support the next phase of Tecta America's development.

Mark Santacrose, President and CEO of Tecta America, says, "Brynne brings tremendous experience in the construction industry at both the operational level as well as in business development.  He is well-versed in all aspects of a national commercial enterprise and has managed acquisition integration and performance improvement.  We look forward to leveraging that expertise as we move forward with integration and growth plans."

Smith states, "I am excited for the opportunity to take my experience to another sector of the construction industry and develop the platform to position Tecta to continue to dominate the commercial roofing industry.  Tecta is an exciting company in a highly fragmented industry, and I foresee growth opportunities by aligning the strengths and synergies of our local and regional businesses."

Smith was formally with Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc where he spent more than 18 years and held positions of increasing responsibility.  His most recent position was that of Vice President of PMCM where was responsible for project and construction management of buildings and infrastructure, and led a group of 1,500 employees, whose efforts resulted in more than $350mm in revenue.  In prior roles there, he headed up the Aviation practice, and led the Civil and Business Infrastructure practices in the central region.  Smith also spent three years in Paris for Jacobs, overseeing the acquisition integration of a large engineering and consulting firm.

Prior to joining Jacobs, Smith was the manager of business development for Raytheon Engineers and Constructors, Inc.  He began his career as an application engineer and sales engineer with United Conveyor Corporation.

Smith graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and holds a Master's of Business Administration degree in finance and marketing from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.  He serves on the Board of Trustees of the St. Louis Science Center.  On a personal note, he has three children, and is an avid hockey fan.
